  • Book with Coach McKina

    Coach McKina

Hi all! My name is McKina, and I’ve been a member of the St. James staff for 5 years now. I recently graduated from GMU and now working full-time. I swam for a club team for eight years, high school team for one year, and recently swam for the George Mason Swim Club for four years. Outside of school and swimming, my career and passion is centered around supporting children and young people.

My coaching style is most suited and familiar with first-time beginner swimmers, as I have 6 years of experience and comfortable with toddlers and younger ages in the water! I have experience and welcome any families who have children who live with disabilities. I am detail orientated when it comes to teaching swim lessons, but I do not have an overly strict style of doing so. I show respect and compassion to all children and parents, while also giving constructive feedback.

Feel free to email me (mckinafitz11@gmail.com) with any additional questions or concerns, thank you!

My 9yro daughter started lessons with Coach Nichole in September 2024 & has already made awesome progress (November 2024)! I started her with swim for the purpose of becoming a stronger, more confident swimmer for safety reasons more than pleasure, but my daughter loves swim days! I highly recommend Coach Nichole, who is kind, fun, and positive!
